Mumbai, May 20: Record champions Mumbai Indians will host 2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 69 of IPL 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in the first game of double-header Sunday (May 21).
Rohit Sharma’s MI will look to bounce back from their defeat to Lucknow Super Giants as they aim to finish in the top four, while Aiden Markram-led SRH will look to stop the slide following recent defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore and end season on high.

As it stands, MI are in sixth position in the IPL 2023 points table and will make one final push for a top four spot, while SRH occupy the bottom spot and will look to spoil their opponent’s party.
Mumbai Indians will be a confident side following their reverse fixture result, overall edge and recent record against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who also don’t possess a great record during their visits to the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In the 20 meetings between the two sides in IPL so far, MI hold a slight edge having won 11 matches, while SRH has won 9 times. In the last six meetings also it’s 4-2 in favour of MI when it comes to matches between Sunrisers and Mumbai in IPL.
In the reverse fixture last month, MI rode on Cameron Green fifty to set a target of 193 before an all-round bowling display helped bundle out SRH to 178 to seal a 14-run win.
In Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium, MI and SRH have clashed 6 times so far. And it’s MI that hold the edge, having won 4 times against SRH at home. The Sunrisers have beaten MI in their own backyard only twice so far.
