Rohit Sharma's MI head into the match on the back of their sixth loss of this season, while Aiden Markram-led SRH are fresh from their ninth defeat of the campaign. MI has won 7 in 13, whereas SRH has won 4 in 13 so far.

The two sides have already crossed paths this season in Hyderabad, where MI defeated SRH by 14 runs after setting a target of 193 and bundling out the Sunrisers to 178 in the reverse fixture.
Now, the two sides will clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, which will host it's seventh and final match of the season. MI has won four and lost two at their home venue in Mumbai so far.
While the five-time champions lost to Chennai Super Kings in the opener at home by 7 wickets, they bounced back with a 5-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders, but were once again pegged back by Punjab Kings in a 13-run loss.
However, the five-time champions have since responded with a 6-wicket wins in high-scoring run chases against playoff aspirants Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore followed by a successful defence against Gujarat Titans in their most recent matches at home.
Ahead of MI vs SRH 2023 meeting at the Wankhede Stadium, we take a look at the pitch report and weather forecast for the day as some parts of the country have received summer showers.
A mostly sunny and clear day with maximum temperature of 34o C reducing to 31o C during the playing hours. There is no chance of rain throughout the day. So, weather is unlikely to play spoilsport in the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Wankhede Stadium is known to be batting friendly due to the true nature of the wicket and quicker outfield. The average score batting first in IPL at the venue is 169. While batters have found run scoring easy, the wickets have helped the quicker bowlers in the early stages of night matches.
The first match of the 2023 season saw the CSK spinners dominate in the first innings, but the MI bowlers could not achieve the same as CSK batters eased to the target with 7 wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare.
In the second match, a 3:30 PM IST start, saw KKR ride on Venkatesh Iyer hundred post a challenging target of 186, which was chased down by the home side with 14 balls to spare thanks to a quick-fire fifty by Ishan Kishan.
In the third match, which was a high-scoring contest, Punjab Kings posted a total of 214 and restricted the hosts MI to 201 in the run chase. Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green efforts in the chase went in vain.
In the fourth match, MI pulled off the highest run chase against RR as they chased down 213 with 3 balls to spare thanks to Tim David's last-over show after Suryakumar and Green had laid the platform for the hosts with quickfire knocks.
In the fifth match, MI chased down a target of 200 set by RCB with 21 balls to spare thanks to Suryakumar and Nehal Wadhera's dominating stand of 140 for the third wicket.
In the sixth and most recent match, MI rode on Suryakumar's maiden IPL hundred to set a target of 219 before the record champions restricted the defending champions to 191 despite a late onslaught from Rashid Khan.
