Hardik Pandya led Mumbai Indians will host Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday (May 6) in Match 55 of IPL 2024.
In the past 22 occasions, Mumbai has had the edge over Hyderabad by a 12 to 10 winning ratio. This season SRH already beat MI once by 31 runs, while MI defeated SRH twice in the last season.

After losing four matches in a row, Mumbai is virtually out of the race to the playoffs. The five-time champion is sitting at the bottom with only three wins in eleven matches. In the last match, they lost to KKR at Wankhede after a long 12 years.
On the other hand, SRH made a comeback after defeating the table-leader RR in the last match. After ten matches, the Nizams are at fourth with 12 points in ten matches.
Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee are on a wicket-spree this season. Nuwan Thusara was also in decent form and was spot-on in the match against KKR. Skipper Hardik Pandya also bagged eight wickets this season.
Piyush Chawla, the only seasoned spinner in the squad could be useful against the SRH middle-order if the pitch remains the same as the last match.
This season the Sunrisers have relied heavily on their sheer batting prowess, which also deviates them from formulating a proper plan B. Spinners are the other weak points for them.
Pat Cummins, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T. Natarajan, Marco Jansen, Jayadev Unadkat; all the Hyderabad pacers are in fine form, and make the main bowling attack of SRH. Whereas spinners like Mayank Markande and Shahbaz Ahmed are yet to shine in this season.
Jasprit Bumrah (MI): The best bowler in this IPL, has bagged 17 wickets in eleven matches, with an economy rate of 6.25. His meagre bowling with the ability to deliver accurate yorkers one after another, made him one of the deadliest bowlers in the limited-overs cricket.
In the match against SRH, his role will be to cause an upset for the Hyderabad openers, who have been giving explosive starts throughout the season.
Nuwan Thushara (MI): The 29-year-old Srilankan right-arm fast bowler has played only four matches in the IPL and picked up four wickets. Being expensive is the only concern for him.
In the last match against KKR, Thushara single-handedly destroyed the mighty Knights' top-order with three wickets in just two overs. A similar fiery spell against SRH will be expected from this Srilankan international.
T Natarajan (SRH): The 33-year-old left-arm medium-fast bowler has been brilliant this season with 15 wickets in just eight matches. Natarajan currently is the fourth-highest wicket-taker this season. Along with Pat Cummins the Indian pacer will play a vital role in toppling the MI top order.
Pat Cummins (SRH): The Hyderabad skipper has picked up 12 wickets this season with a decent economy rate. The Australian right-arm fast bowler has 57 career wickets in IPL. In the match against MI, he will be crucial to get an early breakthrough by scalping Mumbai's opening pairs.
There is nothing to lose for the Islanders this season as they are virtually out of the race to the playoffs. But for SRH this match is highly important, as they have a neck-to-neck competition with CSK and LSG for the third and fourth spot in the points table.
Both the teams have posted multiple 200-plus scores this season, and except for the last match the venue is known as a good batting ground. Hence, a high-score drama is expected from this clash of titans.
