Mumbai Indians injury update, team news, key players
There are no injuries reported from Mumbai Indians with less than 24 hours to go for the match and have been a stellar side this tournament, they found their winning combination early in the tournament and have pretty much stick to their star performers.
Yashtika Bhatia continues to score runs in powerplay
The stock of Yashtika Bhatia continues to rise in the WPL as the southpaw opener has shown she knows the art to score runs in the powerplay while playing textbook cricket shots. The 22-year-old batter scored 42 and 41 in her last two innings and has accumulated 107 runs in four innings.
Her opening partner Hayley Matthews had an off-day with the bat as she could only score 12 runs in the last game against UP Warriorz. There is, however, no reason to lose confidence in the all-rounder as she is the franchises' highest run-scorer this season with 168 runs and has smashed two half-centuries.
The Windies captain's form with the ball remains intact as she picked a wicket in the last game and has seven wickets from the last three games.
Batting at No. 3, Nat Sciver Brun has joined the Orange Cap race with 146 runs and scored a vital 45 not out in the last game as she stitched an unbeaten stand of 106 runs with skipper Harmanpreet. Brunt, who is also a capable seam bowler, went wicketless in the last two games.
Harmanpreet has been a treat to watch as well with two half-centuries to her name in three innings.
Amelia Kerr and Pooja Vastrakar haven't been bothered much about batting responsibilities yet but both of them carry the reputation of hard hitters. Kerr also scored an impactful 24-ball 45 against Gujarat Giants.
Kerr has been doing the job with her leg-spin bowling as well with six wickets in four games, including 2/33 in the last. Pacer Vastrakaer, on the other hand, is used as an optional bowler when the skipper is looking for variation.
Saika Ishaque makes WPL her tournament
There's no stopping Saika Ishaque from taking wickets this WPL as the spinner is leading the Purple Cap race with 12 wickets in four games, including a 3/33 spell in the last game. Ishaque's expertise on Indian soil was on exposure from the very first match of the franchise as she picked wickets in bundles irrespective of what the pitch had on offer.
Other experienced spinners in the team in Kerr and Matthews have looked more like an understudy to Ishaque.
Among pacers, Issy Wong has been the face with four wickets in four games and has been a terror for batters with the new ball. However, skipper Harmanpreet, off late, has shown more faith in Brunt to start with the new ball.
Vastrakar and Jintimani Kalia are the domestic pacers in the 11 but are only used as Plan B by the captain given the multiple bowling options that the skipper rejoices.

Gujarat Giants injury update, team news
Sophia Dunkley to return?
Gujarat Giants played the last game without Sophia Dunkley and it was later revealed the half-centurion was dropped from the playing 11 just to make space for new recruit Laura Wolvaardt. While the decision puzzled many, coach Rachael Haynes admitted that the decision was a wrong call on their part.
Her return would probably mean Wolvaardt will lose her place in the line-up after scoring just one run on her WPL debut. Unless the opening duo makes the line-up with either of Kim Garth or Georgia Wareham sitting out.
The decision may not come as a surprise as domestic opener S Meghana has not been able to make her chances count with knocks of 0, 8, 24, and 2 so far.
And with the Brabourne wicket proving more spin-friendly, it is likely that Kim Garth, who took 5-for on WPL debut, may sit out the game.
A lot rests on the shoulders of Harleen Deol and D Hemalatha
Gujarat Giants once again will be expecting a lot from Harleen Deol, who has been among the most consistent batters from the team with knocks of 20, 67, 46 after scoring a duck in the first game.
Expectations will be high from D Hemalatha too despite scoring just five in the last innings. Amid lack of quality options for Indian batters, Hemalatha looked in good touch with knocks of 21* and 29* in the first two games but since then her form has been on a decline.
The onus of scoring runs in the middle-order also falls on Ashleigh Gardner and the Australian all-rounder hasn't done much with the bat yet. She was out for duck twice this tournament, including the last game against Delhi Capitals and if not for her international credentials and a vital 3/31 spell in the team's sole win so far, she could have been on the firing line as well.
Gujarat Giants bowling headaches
Gardner's retention in the team also comes from the fact that Gujarat Giants' bowling has been lacking match-winners as well. Their fallacies were exposed when Delhi Capitals, propelled by Shafali Verma's fireworks, chased down 105 against them in just 7.1 overs.
Their domestic bowlers Mansi Joshi, Monica Patel and Tanuja Kanwar have been woeful to watch as they went for runs whenever handed the opportunity.
Skipper Sneh Rana has been ineffective as well with no wickets to her name since she took charge of the team while her batting has made no difference as well.

Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Giants pitch report MI-W vs GUJ-W
Braboune Stadium has been providing the early movement with the new ball but the wicket has considerably slowed down since the beginning of the tournament. Spinners have been largely successful on the venue of late. However, there are still a lot of runs on the offer on the wicket and even a total of 180 may not ascertain a win.

Wicketkeeper Y Bhatia
Batter S Dunkley, D Hemalatha, H Deol, H Kaur
All-rounder A Gardner, H Matthews, N Sciver, A Kerr
Bowler G Wareham, S Ishaque-I
Captain and vice-captain choices The form of likes of H Kaur and H Deol make them a wise choice while Y Bhatia, and S Dunkley are good picks as well. However, H Matthews' good form with the bat and her spin coming in handy in the condition makes her an impact player. S Ishaque-I is also relishing bowling at the Brabourne with six wickets in two games.
