England are out of the World Cup 2023 while Pakistan are on the verge of elimination. But there is no stopping in the war of words between two of their former players, which all started revolving India player Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli equalled Sachin Tendulkar with his 49th ODI century in their match against South Africa last Sunday. The Indian stalwart scored an unbeaten 101 off 121 balls on a difficult pitch at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and ensured a massive total for Team India.

The evidence of the difficulty of the pitch was palpable as the star-studded South African batting lineup were skittled for a mere 83 runs in the run chase.
But despite Kohli's stellar batting, former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez termed Kohli selfish for 'slow' batting. Hafeez said he saw hint of selfishness in Kohli's batting while speaking on a Pakistani TV show, which was rejected instantly by one of his former Pakistan teammate Wahab Riaz, who was also on the show.
Picking on that, former England captain Michael Vaughan, who is no strange to picking up fights, lambasted Hafeez on his X (formerly known as Twitter) profile.
"Come on @MHafeez22 !!! India have hammered 8 teams playing great cricket ..
@imVkohli now has 49 tons and his last was an anchor role innings on a tricky pitch .. His team won by over 200 !!!! This is utter nonsense," Vaughan wrote on his X profile.
Then on Wednesday (November 8), Hafeez took to his X and tried to say Ben Stokes' innings against Netherlands is the one which epitomizes selflessness. But Vaughan came back with a reply that Kohli's inning was on a difficult pitch in Kolkata.
And then Vaughan posted a picture of Hafeez being knocked over by Kohli in an India-Pakistan match and asked if that is the reason for his soreness on Kohli.
Vaughan then dug deep and uploaded the video of Kohli casting Hafeez and posted it on his X profile on Thursday (November 9).
In reply to Vaughan, Hafeez took to X and called Vaughan 'Foolish'. Though he didn't take Vaughan's name or tagged him, the pun was clearly intended to the former England captain.
And now Michael Vaughan has taken it to another level. He posted a snapshot of Hafeez's ban by ICC for chucking and said, "Just realised why you are so good at throwing out Tweets @MHafeez22".
