Potchefstroom: South Africa women registered a consolation seven-wicket win over their India counterparts in the third and final ODI here on Saturday (February 10).

Batting first, India eves compiled a competitive 240 based on handy contributions from Deepti Sharma (79, 112b, 8x4) and Veda Krishnamurthy (56, 64b, 8x4).

Right-arm medium pacer Shabnim Ismail (4/30) was the pick of South African bowlers who ensured that India would not make a charge towards the backend of their innings and take the total away from the home side's reach.

Perhaps, the intensity level was a notch lesser for the Indians after bagging the series coming into this match as their bowling too did not have the usual sharpness.

Laura Wolvaardt (59, 88b, 4x4), Mignon du Preez (90 n.o., 111b, 7x4) and Dan van Niekerk (41 n.o., 30b, 5x4) carried South Africa past the target with four balls to spare.
