Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is all set to link up with compatriots Travis Head and Steve Smith, after having signed for Washington Freedom in the upcoming Major League Cricket (MLC) season.
Apart from joining his teammates Travis Head and Steve Smith, the all-rounder, who is currently part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team in IPL 2024, is also set to join another compatriot Ricky Ponting at Washington Freedom.

The all-rounder said he was excited about the opportunity to play in the United States and revealed about his conversation on the same with head coach Ponting and a few other players recently.
"It's a tournament that I watched from afar last year and was extremely excited about hopefully playing this tournament one day and luckily enough the timings have aligned this year," Maxwell said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
"I've been speaking to Ricky Ponting and a few other players a fair bit over the last little period and certainly extremely excited to get stuck in."
Maxwell also said playing with some extremely familiar players pushed him to opt for MLC over the Hundred, which is also set to be held around the same time.
"Having Travis and Steve there and Ricky, three guys who I'm extremely familiar with, I think that sort of probably tipped me over the edge," Maxwell added.
"You sort of um and ah about that time of the year about where you're going to be and whether you take the time off, whether you play the Hundred or what you might do.
"And I think just having those couple of Aussies there and I think the opportunity to be a part of something really big in MLC and grow something is really exciting as well."
Washington Freedom will be looking to better their finish from last season, when they exited the inaugural edition of MLC in the Eliminator stage following a defeat to eventual champions MI New York.
The franchise has also roped in USA's Ian Holland and Yasir Mohammad as well as Sri Lankan pair Amila Aponso and Lahiru Milantha as draft picks ahead of the new season.
