MLC Retentions 2025: Major League Cricket teams have started revealing their retention list, starting with domestic retained players ahead of the domestic player draft, which is set to take place on Wednesday (February 19).
While Washington Freedom, Los Angeles Knight Riders, and San Francisco Unicorns have opted to retain almost full quota of their domestic contingent, MI New York, Texas Super Kings, and Seattle Orcas, have preferred to let go half of their domestic roster.

Top American stars like Saurabh Netravalkar, Andries Gous, Aaron Jones, Ali Khan, Umukt Chand and Corey Anderson among others were the domestic talents retained ahead of the Major League Cricket season 3.
United States opening batter Steven Taylor, their first-ever draft pick back in 2023, was among the players released. Shehan Jayasuriya, Nauman Anwar, Hammad Azam, Shahyan Jahangir and Shubham Ranjane were also let go. Here is a look at the domestic retained players ahead of MLC 2025 Draft:
Seattle Orcas hold the largest purse heading into the drafting process with USD 180,000 of their USD 320,000 left in their domestic purse. MI New York, who released their top picks from the past two seasons, have next biggest domestic purse remaining at USD 160,000.
Texas Super Kings also have a remaining purse of USD 100,000, while Washington Freedom, Los Angeles Knight Riders and San Francisco Unicorns head into the domestic draft 2025 with the smallest purse. Here is a look at the remaining purse:
