Modi gears up for Monday battle with BCCI bigwigs

New Delhi, May 9 (ANI): Even as officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) maintain that suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi has not submitted all papers related to the Twenty20 tourney, Modi has said that he is ready to take on the BCCI bigwigs on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, Modi said that he has always been seen as the public enemy No.1 by the BCCI.

He said that he would not be sending his lawyers to reply to the two BCCI showcause notices, but would reply personally to the charges.

"There's nothing to hide, everything's out in the open," Modi said.

Modi is expected to launch a public attack on the BCCI.

Sources close to Modi told the TIMES NOW television channel that besides responding to the five main charges levelled against him by BCCI, Modi might also spill beans on the board.

Modi has claimed that he has submitted most of the relevant IPL documents.

They include all franchisee agreements, global media rights agreements, the global media rights packages, bid documents, media rights licensee agreements, eligibility letters of all bidders with details and all sponsorship agreements entered into by IPL.

The Board has however denied receiving all the documents. BCCI CAO Ratnakar Shetty has said that there are still a few documents pending.

Modi has been accused of receiving kickbacks for allotting TV broadcast rights to indiscipline and leveling baseless charges against the BCCI. (ANI)
