His growing proximity with the community was once again proved when cricketer Irfan Pathan on Friday invited Gujarat Chief Minister Modi to the wedding of his elder brother and cricketer Yusuf Pathan. The wedding is slated on March 27. Irfan handed over the invitation to the Chief Minister at chamber in the Assembly building.
Yusuf is getting married to physiotherapist Afreen. She works in Vadodara while her parents live in Mumbai. Officials in CMO said Modi, who had so far avoided attending wedding of cricketers, was willing to attend Yusuf's wedding.
Earlier, Irfan had joined Modi's campaign during Gujarat Assembly Elections 2012. Irfan had openly declared his admiration for Modi and his developmental work in Gujarat.
