Mohali to meet Patiala in Hot Weather cricket final

Patiala, Jun 7 (UNI) In a crucial semi-final match of the 10th Hot Weather Cricket Tournament (Under-13), Mohali Cricket Association (MCA) whipped the local Black Elephant Cricket Club (BECC) by a huge margin of 125 runs here today at the Army cricket ground.

Batting first, MCA rattled up 235 in the stipulated 40 overs, losing seven wickets. Subeer Hayer (96) narrowly missed the century, but flayed the BECC bowling attack which was pedestrian.

Shine Sharma (36) and Sahej (28) were the other main run getters.

For BECC, Prabhjot bowled well to capture 4 wickets, giving away 36 runs.

In reply, BECC could score only 110 runs in 40 overs, losing five wickets. Anmolpreet scored an unbeaten 40, though it was not enough to pull his team out of the woods.

In the second semi-final played at the DMW ground, APJS, Kharar, lost to the local DMW in a closely contested match by 26 runs.

Batting first, DMW scored 178 for 8 in 40 overs. Anmol Malhotra scored a fine half century (51) to lay the foundation for a decent score.

For APJS, S Bhambri bowled exceedingly well to bag 4 for 31.

APJS scored 152 for 8 in 40 overs. Arjit (37) and Siddharth (36) were the main scorers. Sanveer captured 2 for 20.
