Mohammad Amir's participation in Ireland T20Is ahead of T20 World Cup in doubt due this reason

Mohammad Amir, who made his international comeback with the T20I series against New Zealand last month, did not travel with the rest of the Pakistan squad to Ireland due to visa issues.

Pakistan are scheduled to play three T20Is against Ireland from May 10 to May 14. Mohammad Amir's Ireland visa issue has now created doubts over his participation in the series.

The left-arm pacer is a permanent resident of the United Kingdom and applied for an Ireland visa with the rest of the Pakistan squad, a PCB official informed ESPNcricinfo. While the remaining members of the travelling side received their visas on time and left for Ireland on Tuesday, Amir had to stay back in Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials are in touch with Cricket Ireland to resolve the issue at the earliest. However, as per the ESPNcricinfo report, there is no word on a timeline around when his visa is expected. Amir had travelled to Ireland in 2018 when the European nation played their first Test match in Malahide.

One member of the Pakistan management - Mohammad Yousaf - also faced delay in getting his visa. He managed to receive it just in time to travel with the rest of the squad.

Pakistan will be travelling to England after the Ireland T20Is. They will play four T20I matches there before travelling for the T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the West Indies. Pakistan will play their first match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against USA on October 6.

Pakistan Squad for Ireland and England T20Is: Babar Azam (c), Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan, Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Agha, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Usman Khan
