Mohammed Shami Helps Victim From Car That Fell Down From Hill Road Near Nanital

By MyKhel Staff

Indian pacer and the leading wicket-taker of the bygone ODI World Cup 2023, Mohammed Shami helped a person get out of a car that fell down from the Hill Road near the town of Nainital in Uttarakhand on Saturday (November 25).

Shami shared a video on his Instagram with the caption, "He's so lucky god gave him 2nd life. His car fall down from the hill road near Nanital just in front of my car. We took him out very safely."

The video showed the Indian speedster and his entourage at the sight of wreckage and the group helped the victim after he was brought towards the road.

A week ago, Shami, who was one of the stars of India's ICC World Cup 2023 run in to the final, suffered a heartbreaking loss against Australia in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The veteran seamer missed the first few matches, but managed to take 24 wickets from seven outings to finish as the tournament's highest wicket-taker with the best figures of 7 for 57, also the best by an Indian player in the show-piece tournament history.

Shami warmed the bench in the initial league stage games against Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh. And got his chance only after all-rounder Hardik Pandya picked up an injury during the Bangladesh match.

Shami struck in his first ball of the World Cup as he removed New Zealand opener Will Young and ended the match with a five-wicket haul. He also added a four-wicket haul in the next outing against England before another fifer against Sri Lanka.

Shami also surpassed veteran pacers Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath (44) to become India's all-time leading wicket taker at the ODI World Cup and is fifth in the list for most wickets in ODI World Cup with 55 scalps from three editions of the tournament.
