Mohammed Shami has taken a brutal dig at former India batter and pundit Sanjay Manjrekar on Thursday (November 21).
Shami has returned to competitive cricket after a long injury lay-off but is already in the thick of things and took an open jab at the former India player.

As the IPL 2025 auction approaches, Shami is set to be part of the auction. After being released by Gujarat Titans, the India pacer is one of the marquee players. Although Shami recently returned to cricket, he has looked sharp in the solitary match he played in Ranji Trophy, and took 7 wickets as well.
Despite Shami's legacy and class, Sanjay Manjrekar predicted the value of the Indian bowler in the mega auction would decrease. Analyzing the auction dynamics, Manjrekar predicted franchises may not risk with a huge price for Shami due to his fitness.
"There will definitely be interest from teams, but given Shami's injury history - and this recent one took a significant amount of time to recover - there's always a concern about a potential breakdown during the season," Sanjay Manjrekar said while speaking on Star Sports.
But his words haven't amused Shami as the 34-year-old blasted Manjrekar for his comments. Shami took to Instagram and mocked him for his words.
Baba Ki Jay Hoooo. Thoda sa gyan apne future ke liye bhi bacha lo kaam ayeaga Sanjay G. Kisi ko future janna ho to sir se mile (Glory to Baba Ji. Save a little wisdom for your own future Mr. Sanjay as that will be helpful. If anyone wants to know their future, do contact Baba ji)," Shami wrote on his Instagram story.

Shami is included in the Bengal team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Despite talks of fast-tracking him for the India team in the Australia series, BCCI took the decision not to rush the player into action.
Although he didn't play in the IPL 2024 season, the speedster was excellent for Gujarat Titans in the last IPL cycle. The Titans bought him at a price of Rs 6.25 crore in IPL 2022 mega auction.
