Mohammed Shami hasn't featured in the game since his excellent World Cup 2023 performance.
The Indian pacer suffered an injury during the World Cup and recently underwent Achilles Tendon surgery.

The Indian pacer will not take any part in the IPL 2024, and now it is likely that he won't be available for the T20 World Cup as well, which starts in June in West Indies and the USA.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has recently given an update on Shami's injury and has set a timeline for the India pacer. He has revealed that the India pacer will not be part of the T20 World Cup and probably return in September for the Bangladesh series.
"Shami's surgery is done, he is back in India. Shami's return is likely for the home series against Bangladesh," Jay Shah was quoted by PTI.
The Indian pacer was stellar for the team in World Cup 2023. He was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament, picking up 24 wickets. The 33-year-old also gave an update to his fans after his surgery.
"Just had a successful heel operation on my achilles tendon! Recovery is going to take some time, but looking forward to getting back on my feet," Shami wrote on X.
India will host Bangladesh in two Tests and 3 T20Is in September. Rohit Sharma's troops are currently sitting top of the WTC table after their mauling of England and will be hoping to clinch their 2nd title in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
