Former Chennai Super Kings pacer Mohit Sharma has officially retired from all formats of cricket. The 37-year-old announced his decision on Wednesday via Instagram, closing the chapter on a career which saw him wear the India jersey as well.
Mohit's cricketing journey began with Haryana's domestic circuit, where his consistent performances earned him a spot with Chennai Super Kings in 2013. He quickly made an impression in the IPL with his precise bowling and strategic variations.

Reflecting on his career, Mohit shared, "Today with a full heart, I announce my retirement from all formats of cricket. From representing Haryana to wearing the India jersey and playing in the IPL, this journey has been nothing short of a blessing."
His latest IPL team Delhi Capitals reacted on his social media message, saying, "You revolutionised bowling at the death with those back-of-the-hand slower balls. Congrats on a great career, Mohit bhai."
Internationally, Mohit's stint was brief but productive. He made his ODI debut in 2013 against Zimbabwe and was part of the squad for the 2015 ODI World Cup. In total, he featured in 26 ODIs, taking 31 wickets, and appeared in 6 T20Is, claiming 6 wickets. His international career concluded in 2015 after an ODI encounter with South Africa.
In the Indian Premier League, Mohit Sharma's career spanned across four teams - he started with Chennai Super Kings (2013-2015, 2019), then played for Punjab Kings (2016-2018), Delhi Capitals (2020), and Gujarat Titans (2023-2024). He was picked again by Delhi Capitals ahead of the 2025 season.
Just days before the auction, the Capitals discarded Mohit for the upcoming season. And now the veteran has decided to hang his boots from all forms of cricket. In the IPL, Mohit played 120 matches and picked up 134 wickets across the seasons.
