More trouble followed for Pakistan as Day 1 of the first Test against Bangladesh was called off due to persistent rain and wet outfield on Friday, August 30. The toss also could not take place because of the unfavourable condition.
Pakistan lost the first Test by 10 wickets, and now stand on the cusp of losing their first-ever Test series against Bangladesh. The win in the first match was Bangladesh's first Test win over Pakistan. The hosts were bundled out for 146 in the second innings.
The second Test was originally scheduled to be held at National Stadium in Karachi without any spectators, but it was later altogether transferred to Rawalpindi - the venue for the first Test - due to the renovation work going on in lead to the Champions Trophy 2025.

It rained heavily in Rawalpindi since Thursday night, and the conditions only deteriorated on the opening day of the Test. Early lunch was taken before the umpires decided to call off the entire day's play. More rain is predicted in Rawalpindi today, and overcast conditions could prevail on Day 2 as well.
Pakistan announced their 12-member squad for the second Test, and brought back spinner Abrar Ahmed. Spin played a huge role in the first Test at the venue, but Pakistan regretted playing the match with an all pace attack. Star pacer Shaheen Afridi has been excluded.
Bangladesh are high on confidence after their historic win in first Test, and are expected to play with the same eleven. Mushfiqur Rahim scored 191 in the first innings to lift Bangladesh in the first Test. Contributions from top order would be expected.
