Having introduced an initiative for every dot ball bowled in the past few seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Women's Premier League (WPL), BCCI has taken it up a notch in 2025 by presenting the bowler with most dots a special award.
A dot ball is important in all forms of the game, and even more precious when it's executed in T20 format especially in the IPL, where batters have dominated the bowlers in recent years.

The BCCI first introduced the award earlier this year in WPL 2025, and later retained the special prize in the IPL 2025, which has seen high-scoring games already into the fifth match of the season.
A dot ball is a delivery bowled with no runs scored and the reason why it is called a 'dot ball' is because a scorer marks a single dot in the scorebook if a batter does not score any runs.
Animated symbols of a dot ball changing to green trees have shown up instead of regular dots on the scorecard graphics whenever a dot ball has been bowled in the ongoing IPL 2025.
The initiative is part of BCCI and TATA's drive in which every dot ball bowled during the tournament will result in 18 trees being planted. A tree graphic appears on the screen whenever a dot ball is delivered.
Despite some of the high-scoring games, several bowlers have been able to keep the run-flow in check and have received a special award of a sapling and a cash reward of Rs 1 Lakh during the post-match presentation. Here is a look at the Most Dot Balls in IPL 2025 award winners of every match:
