England pacer James Anderson is a stalwart of the game. He is going strong even at the age of 40 and has grown like a fine wine throughout the years.
Anderson recently became the no. 1 ranked Test bowler in the world at the age of 40, becoming the fifth oldest bowler in history to achieve the crown.
Anderson started his international career in 2002, in an ODI match against Australia in Melbourne. He went on to make his Test debut a year later at Lord's against Zimbabwe. And his T20I debut came against Australia in Sydney in 2007.
Throughout the last couple of decades, he has been a mainstay in the England team and has cemented his status as one of the greatest bowlers in the history of the game. Even after entering the fifth decade of his life, the maestro of England seems to have a lot in his sleeves and is going as strong as ever.
James Anderson currently has 972 international wickets to his name, which means just 28 scalps away from penning his name in the history books. He will become the first pacer in history to get to 1000 international wickets if he gets there. The English 'youngster' has 685 Test wickets, 269 ODI wickets and 18 T20I wickets to his name.
