Peshawar Zalmi spinner Waqar Salamkheil on Wednesday (February 21) registered the unwanted record of most runs conceded by a bowler in an innings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League Season 9 - PKL 2024.
Salamkheil was added to the top of the list by Karachi Kings all-rounder Kieron Pollard, who took the spinner to cleaners, smashing 27 runs in a single over, including 3 sixes and 2 fours.

Earlier, Quetta Gladiators pace duo of Mohammad Hasnain and Mohammad Wasim Junior had held the unwanted record. Hasnain gave away 50 runs during Quetta Gladiators league stage match against Lahore Qalandars on Monday (February 19) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The pitches in Lahore have been unforgiving to the bowlers, especially the pacers, who have gone for plenty in their short spells. Tabraiz Shamsi and Abrar Ahmed are the two spinners that feature in the list in the early stages of the tournament. Here is a look at most expensive spells in PSL 2024:
Salamkheil, however, is not the most costliest bowler in PSL history. That record is held by a former Gladiators bowler Qais Ahmad, who conceded 77 runs in an innings during PSL 2023.
In fact, there have been more expensive spells in Pakistan Super League history since the inception of the league with likes of Shahid Afridi and Shaheen Shah Afridi also appearing in the top five for bowlers conceding most runs in an innings in PSL. Here is a look at the list:
The overall list is dominated by pacers with only one spinner Qais, who unfortunately has registered the joint third worst figures in T20 cricket so far. Anwar Ali also makes an appearance twice in the list.
