Most Runs in ICC ODI World Cup: The race for the top run-getter in 2023 ended in the semi-final stage when Virat Kohli took the lead and also broke the record for most runs in single tournament.
While star India batter Virat Kohli leads the pack, his compatriot and skipper Rohit Sharma is also in among the top run-getters. The other semifinalists - New Zealand, Australia and South Africa also had players in the top 10 highest run-scorer of this edition.

Kohli added to his tally for most runs in a single World Cup in the final after breaking the record in the semi-final. New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra, who already owned several records in his first World Cup, finished in the top 10 alongside South Africa's Quinton de Kock.
Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar had held the record for most runs in a single World Cup, having scored 673 runs in the 2003 edition. Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden had come close in the next edition, but fell short by 14 runs from surpassing the feat.
Tendulkar's record was finally broken by Kohli, who will hope to break a long-standing jinx, after taking over the crown for most runs in a single ODI World Cup.
Over the years, different players have finished the tournament has the highest run-getter. Only one player - Tendulkar - has finished atop of the most runs in a single ODI World Cup twice, once in 1996 and once in 2003.
An interesting fact to note from the list is that, no player with the highest run-getter crown has managed to win the World Cup in the same year as their feat. Here is look at the list that is dominated by Indian batters:
