The Women's Premier League (WPL) has taken a fitting end as Mumbai Indians clinched the inaugural title by beating Delhi Capitals in the final.
Five teams participated in the inaugural WPL and all the matches took place across two stadiums in Mumbai.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB-W), Mumbai Indians (MI-W), Delhi Capitals (DC-W), UP Warriorz (UPW) and Gujarat Giants (GGT) are the five teams in the inaugural season. The tournament started on March 4 and came to conclusion on March 26.
There were some outstanding batting displays across the tournament.
Delhi Capitals batter Meg Lanning finished at the summit of the Orange Cap leaderboard with 345 runs. The Delhi captain has been a standout performer for her team in this WPL and has led her team from the front. Mumbai Indians batter Nat Scver-Brunt finished in 2nd spot and the podium was completed by UP Warriorz batter Tahlia McGrath.
