Delhi Capitals (DC) possibly finished their season with 135 sixes as they moved to third in the battle for most sixes by a team in IPL 2024 following the 19-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday (May 14) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Abhishek Porel (58 off 33 balls) and Tristan Stubbs (57* off 25 balls) smashed 4 sixes each, while Shai Hope hit 2 sixes to help DC post 208 after being put into bat.

In response, Arshad Khan (58* off 33 balls) an unlikely hero had given LSG a chance with 5 sixes after Nicholas Pooran had hit 4 maximums to start a fight back. Yudhvir Singh also hit 1 six, but all the effort went to waste as LSG fell short of the target and possibly stare at an early exit.
Although the Delhi Capitals won on the night, even they are on the brink of an early elimination as they finish with 14 points with a poor Net Run Rate (NRR). LSG also can finish on 14 points if they win the next match, but possess the worst NRR compared to the others who could finish with the same points.
The ongoing season has seen 1125 sixes being struck in 65 matches, breaking the record for the total sixes in an IPL season with at least 10 more matches left to play this edition. The earlier record was 1124 sixes in a 74-game season last year.
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad had broken the single season record in the battle of the sixes by a team, while several other teams also crossed the century mark. Here is a look at the most sixes scored by a team in IPL 2024 after DC vs LSG IPL 2024 Match 64:
