Marcus Stoinis and LSG, however, had other ideas after home team thought they were favourites as the Australian all-rounder smashed his maiden IPL century, smashing 6 sixes during his knock to complete the chase in the final over.

Both teams moved up the list, but were a fair distance away from the leaders Sunrisers Hyderabad for most sixes by a team in IPL 2024. SRH has played one game fewer than most teams and is just 1 shy off a century of maximums.

The ongoing season has seen over 650 sixes being struck in just 39 matches, projecting to a possible breach in the total sixes for an IPL season. The record stands at 1124 sixes in a 74-game season from last year.

Earlier on Monday (April 22), Mumbai Indians (MI) went to second spot in the race for most sixes by a team in IPL 2024, but it came in a losing cause as they suffered a 9-wicket loss to Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
