It was all square in the battle of the sixes in IPL 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday (April 23), but Lucknow Super Giants stunned the home side Chennai Super Kings with a 6-wicket win in match 39.
Shivam Dube, one of the top six-hitters in the last few seasons, smashed 7 sixes, while the CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored a century, also hit 3 sixes to take their team to a challenging total of 210/4.

Marcus Stoinis and LSG, however, had other ideas after home team thought they were favourites as the Australian all-rounder smashed his maiden IPL century, smashing 6 sixes during his knock to complete the chase in the final over.

The ongoing season has seen over 650 sixes being struck in just 39 matches, projecting to a possible breach in the total sixes for an IPL season. The record stands at 1124 sixes in a 74-game season from last year.
