Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) moved to second in the battle for most sixes by a team in IPL 2024 during the 60-run victory that ended Punjab Kings (PBKS) playoff hopes on Thursday (May 9) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar smashed 6 sixes each, while Dinesh Karthik hit 2 sixes, and a maximum each was struck by Will Jacks and Cameron Green as RCB took their tally to 130 for the season when they posted 241/7 vs PBKS.

In response, PBKS got off to a decent start with Rilee Rossouw hitting 3 sixes followed by Shashank Singh, who hit 2 sixes, while Jonny Bairstow and Ashutosh Sharma hit a maximum each to take their team's tally pase 100 sixes, but could only manage to post 181.
The ongoing season has seen over 1000 sixes being struck in 58 matches, projecting to a possible breach in the total sixes for an IPL season with just more than 15 matches left to play this edition. The record stands at 1124 sixes in a 74-game season from last year.
