Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad are locked in a battle for most sixes by a team in IPL 2024 with the likes of Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Heinrich Klaasen and Abhishek Sharma dominating the maximums chart so far this season.
Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are also very close in the race as Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans also look to catch up.

The ongoing season has seen over 400 sixes in just 25 matches as the highest total record was breached once and one team almost got close breaking that record within the space of a week.
SRH and KKR started off the battle against each other, and the two teams went on smash more sixes in the next few games, which saw the Sunrisers post 277 and the Knights post 272. Both those games involving MI and DC on the other hand saw over 25 sixes in a single match.
With more than 40 matches still remaining in the tournament, this battle is set to go down to the wire if matches are played on these flat unforgiving wickets for the bowlers. SRH took the early lead, but KKR caught up through some carnage from Narine and Russell for most sixes in IPL 2024.
DC, MI, CSK and RCB too have piled on the sixes and been at the wrong end too many times this season. RR and PBKS too are catching up on the rest, but GT is yet to get those willows wielding. Here is a look at the most sixes scored by a team in IPL 2024 with the number of matches played:
While the above list speaks about the most sixes scored by the team in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League, the current top trio are way behind the legacy teams in terms of most maximums hit by a team in IPL history.
That record is currently held by Mumbai Indians followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who have smashed over 1500 sixes. It is very expected as these two teams have been part of IPL since it's inception and so are the next few on the list.
Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings have hit over 1400 sixes, while Kolkata Knight Riders are closing in on that milestone. Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad are all above 1000 or closing in on that number. Here is a look at the most sixes by active teams:
