Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) joined three other teams by smashing over 100 sixes in the battle for most sixes by a team in IPL 2024 during the 9-wicket thumping win over Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (April 28).
Will Jacks, who smashed a 41-ball century, dominated the six-hitting charts for RCB with 10 maximums, while Virat Kohli (70* off 44 balls) and Faf Du Plessis (24 off 12 balls) hit 3 sixes each to seal the run chase of 201 in 16 overs.

Earlier, one of the lowest six hitters this season, GT also added to their tally, but remained in the bottom of the most sixes by a team in IPL 2024 list. Shahrukh Khan (58 off 30) and Sai Sudharsan (84* off 49) hit 5 and 4 sixes each respectively.
David Miller also hit one six, but GT could still not cross 50 sixes for the season and remained last, while RCB with 106 sixes moved to second in the list.
The ongoing season has seen close to 850 sixes being struck in 45 matches, projecting to a possible breach in the total sixes for an IPL season with more than 25 matches left to play this edition. The record stands at 1124 sixes in a 74-game season from last year.

That record is currently held by Mumbai Indians followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who have smashed close to 1600 sixes. Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders have all hit over 1400 sixes.
Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad are all above 1000 or closing in on that number. Gujarat Titans and LSG, the newcomers, are yet to cross the 300-mark.
