Most Sixes Conceded By A Bowler In IPL: Piyush Chawla Becomes First Bowler To Get Hit For 200 Maximums

Mumbai Indians spinner Piyush Chawal on Friday (May 26) registered an unwanted record during the IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The veteran spinner became the first bowler to concede over 200 sixes in Indian Premier League history thanks to the onslaught from GT opener Shubman Gill, who scored his third century of the season.

Chawla, who returned to IPL action earlier this season after missing out in 2022, has claimed 22 wickets this season, but unfortunately conceded his 200th six to Gill in the IPL 2023 Qualifier 2.

In the innings of 129 from 60 balls, Gill struck 10 sixes and 7 fours as the GT opener went on to score the highest individual score in IPL playoff history. The amount of sixes was also the most in a playoff innings. Gill's knock took GT to 233, the team's highest total.

In 180 innings, the leg spinner Chawla has conceded 4796 runs, including 201 sixes and and 361 fours in his IPL career so far. There are several other bowlers that have conceded over 150 sixes or close to 200 sixes in IPL.

The list also features other Indian spinners like Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Harbhajan Singh and Axar Patel, who have all conceded over 100 sixes.
