Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler overtook Chennai Super Kings’ Shivam Dube and Lucknow Super Giants’ Nicholas Pooran for most sixes in the Indian Premier League since the 2022 season with his second hundred in IPL 2024.
Legendary Chris Gayle holds the record for most sixes in IPL followed by Rohit Sharma, AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. However, since the lucrative expanded in 2022, the likes of Buttler, Dube and Pooran have made huge strides.

Buttler, who has been a consistent run-scorer in the past few seasons, saw a blip in form last year, but has bounced back this year with two centuries in 6 innings, notching up 10 maximums to add to his 14 from last season and 45 from the 2022 season to take his tally to 69.
Dube, who has been a much-transformed player since joining CSK in the 2022 season, has also smashed over 60 sixes in the Indian Premier League following his Rs 4 Crore purchase by the defending champions in the 2022 mega auction.
Similarly, Pooran also has been a different player ever since 2023 season, when he was bought by LSG for Rs 16 crore. Like Dube and Buttler, the West Indies wicketkeeper-batter has also got to the top of the charts with maximums in 2022, 2023 and the ongoing 2024 season.
Buttler, Dube and Pooran have hit the most sixes in IPL since the 2022 season followed by the likes of Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson. Punjab Kings' Liam Livingstone and Kolkata Knight Riders' Andre Russell also feature in the list.
Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Heinrich Klaasen and Shimron Hetmyer also have made huge strides in terms of maximums in the past three seasons, including the ongoing edition. Here is a look at players with most sixes in IPL since 2022:
Sunrisers Hyderabad wicketkeeper-batter Klaasen made huge strides to join the list, having smashed 49 sixes in 17 innings since IPL 2023. KKR's Rinku Singh has also hit 32 sixes since last season. MI's Ishan Kishan also has smashed 31 sixes in 2023 and 2024.
Klaasen hit 25 sixes in 2023 and already has 24 sixes in 2024. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Dube hit 16 sixes in his first season with CSK, and followed that with 35 maximums in the title-winning season in 2023. He has so far smashed 15 sixes in 6 innings in the ongoing IPL 2024.
Pooran, meanwhile, smashed 21 sixes in 14 innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2022 season. Since his move to LSG, the wicketkeeper-batter has scored 45 maximums - 26 in 2023 and 19 in the ongoing season.
