Most Sixes in IPL Since 2022: Shivam Dube Back on Top in The Big-Hitting Charts After CSK vs LSG in IPL 2024

Chennai Super Kings' Shivam Dube reclaimed the lead, while Lucknow Super Giants' Nicholas Pooran went level with Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler in second for most sixes in the Indian Premier League since the 2022 season after CSK vs LSG IPL 2024 match 39.

Legendary Chris Gayle holds the record for most sixes in IPL followed by Rohit Sharma, AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. However, since the lucrative expanded in 2022, the likes of Buttler, Dube and Pooran have made huge strides in the race for maximums.

Shivam Dube takes the lead for most sixes in IPL since 2022 season

Dube, who has been a much-transformed player since joining CSK in the 2022 season, has smashed over 70 sixes in the Indian Premier League following his Rs 4 Crore purchase by the defending champions in the 2022 mega auction.

Pooran also has been a different player ever since 2023 season, when he was bought by LSG for Rs 16 crore. Like Dube, the West Indies wicketkeeper-batter has also got to the top of the charts with maximums in the 2022, 2023 and the ongoing 2024 season.

Buttler, who has been a consistent run-scorer in the past few seasons, saw a blip in form last year, but has bounced back this year with two centuries in 6 innings, notching up 10 maximums to to take his tally to 69.

Buttler, Dube and Pooran have hit the most sixes in IPL since the 2022 season followed by the likes of Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson. Punjab Kings' Liam Livingstone and Kolkata Knight Riders' Andre Russell also feature in the list.

Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Heinrich Klaasen and Shimron Hetmyer also have made huge strides in terms of maximums in the past three seasons, including the ongoing edition. Here is a look at players with most sixes in IPL since 2022:

  • Nicholas Pooran (LSG/SRH) - 69 sixes in 36 innings
  • Jos Buttler (RR) - 69 sixes in 38 innings
  • Sanju Samson (RR) - 63 sixes in 39 innings
  • Liam Livingstone (PBKS) - 60 sixes in 29 innings
  • Andre Russell (KKR) - 60 sixes in 31 innings
  • Faf Du Plessis (RCB) - 59 sixes in 38 innings
  • Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK) - 54 sixes in 37 innings
  • Tilak Varma (MI) - 53 sixes in 33 innings
  • Shubman Gill (GT) - 53 sixes in 41 innings
  • Marcus Stoinis (LSG) - 52 sixes in 33 innings
  • Heinrich Klaasen (SRH) - 51 sixes in 18 innings

Sunrisers Hyderabad wicketkeeper-batter Klaasen also made huge strides to join the list, having smashed 51 sixes in 18 innings since IPL 2023. Mumbai Indians trio of Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav also entered the top 15 last week.

As for the sixes in the last three seasons, Klaasen hit 25 sixes in 2023 and already has 26 sixes in 2024, while Dube hit 16 sixes in his first season with CSK, followed by 35 maximums in the title-winning season in 2023. He has so far smashed 22 sixes in 8 innings in the ongoing IPL 2024.

Pooran, meanwhile, smashed 21 sixes in 14 innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2022 season. Since his move to LSG, the West Indies wicketkeeper-batter has smashed 48 maximums - 26 in 2023 and 22 in the ongoing season.
