India's journey under the tutelage of Gautam Gambhir has started in a fantastic fashion as team India secured a dominating T20 series win over Sri Lanka on Tuesday (July 30).
India won the series 3-0 in Sri Lanka as Suryakumar Yadav has made a perfect start this tenure as India captain.

Team India pulled off a Houdini Act at the Pallekele Stadium as the hosts suffered another astonishing capitulation. From 23 required in last four overs with 8 wickets in hand, Sri Lanka lost seven wickets and could only manage to tie the match.
Then it was Washington Sundar who took two wickets in the Super Over to restrict them for just 2 runs. Suryakumar Yadav then hit a boundary in the first ball of the Super Over chase to win it for India.
India was earlier restricted to just 137 runs by the Lanka bowlers. In the run chase, they were cruising at one stage. Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera looked certain to take them over the line, but they started to falter astonishingly in the last four overs.
Washington Sundar first got two wickets in the 17th over but Khaleel Ahmed conceded 12 runs after that, which meant the hosts only needed 9 runs to win in the last two overs. Rinku Singh's excellent 19th over conceded just three runs and took two crucial wickets.
With six runs needed in the last over, India captain Suryakumar Yadav bowled the final over and conceded 5 runs and picked up two wickets to force the match into Super Over.
This was India's 6th tied match in T20 history. The first T20 tied match involving India was in the 2007 T20 World Cup against Pakistan, which came to conclusion after a Bowl Out. India sit 2nd in the list as New Zealand is the team who has been involved in most tied T20 matches.
