Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah went past Ravichandran Ashwin and is now only two shy off Harbhajan Singh for bowler with most wickets in a India vs Australia Border Gavaskar Trophy Test series.
Bumrah on Monday (December 30) claimed his 13th five-wicket haul in Tests after he cleaned up Nathan Lyon on the ultimate day of the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

In the process, Bumrah extended his tally to 30 wickets in the ongoing BGT series, where he has claimed three fifers, and is a run away leader among the top wicket takers in the five-match Test series. Here is a look at the leading wicket-takers in BGT 2024-25:
Bumrah's new ball partner Siraj also has made the top five list with 16 wickets to his name, while Australian pace trio Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland make up the five highest wicket-takers list in the ongoing BGT series.
With the scalp of Lyon in the early hours of play on day 5 of the Boxing Day Test, Bumrah went past Ashwin's tally of 29 wickets in a series featuring India and Australia, and the pace spearhead moved close to breaking the record with one Test left to play.
