Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Monday (April 7) overtook West Indies and Chennai Super Kings legend Dwayne Bravo to become the pacer with the most wickets in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Bhuvneshwar achieved this milestone during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL 2025 clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where his team sealed a thrilling 12-run victory.

Defending 221, Bhuvneshwar gave away 48 runs but got a crucial wicket of Tilak Varma, who threatened to take the game away from RCB. With the solitary scalp, the former Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer moved to the top of the standings for pacers in IPL.

With this latest scalp, Bhuvneshwar also became the third-highest wicket-taker in the IPL. And sits only below Punjab Kings (PBKS) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (206 wickets in 162 matches at an average of 22.83 and best figures of 5/40) and Piyush Chawla (192 wickets in 192 matches at an average of 26.60, with best figures of 4/17).
Meanwhile, the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin of Chennai Super Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders veteran Sunil Narine are both not far away from Bhuvneshwar in the highest wickets tallly. While Ashwin has claimed 183 wickets in 216 matches, Narine has 182 wickets to his name in 180 matches.
