Making his debut in PSL, Multan Sultans seamer Mohammad Ali filled in the big shoes of last year's top wicket-taker Ihsanullah, who is unable to participate this season due to injury, with eight wickets to his name in three games. His 3/19 spell against Islamabad United helped him bag man of the match after a spell of 3/23 in his debut match against Karachi Kings.
Multan Sultans have won all of their three matches so far and their bowlers continue to play key role as speedster Abbas Afridi is right behind with six wickets in three games. Similar to his partnership with Ihsanullah last season, Abbas Afridi has been hunting in pair with Mohammad Ali. Not too far behind his other teammate Usama Mir, who has picked four wickets in three games and was also the third-highest wicket-taker for the franchise last season as well.
Quetta Gladiators' Abrar Ahmed made an upward movement in the Fazal Mahmood Cap race with six wickets in three games. With the wickets getting slower in the PSL 2024 with every passing match, Abrar has become more crucial for the franchise and picked 3/18 in the last game against Islamabad United to keep his side on a three-match winning run.
