From the inaugural PSL in 2016 to his last dance in 2023, Wahab Riaz donned the Peshawar Zalmi colours with fire in his eyes and a mission in his heart. With 113 wickets in 88 matches, the fiery left-armer tops the all-time wicket-takers chart in PSL history. His best figures of 4 for 17 are etched in memory, and with a strike rate of 17.46 and an economy of 7.79, Wahab proved time and again that pace, when paired with passion, is lethal.

Known as much for his roaring celebrations as his wicket-taking ability, Hasan Ali isn’t far behind. With 108 wickets across three franchises—Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, and Peshawar Zalmi—Hasan has been a consistent performer. His best haul of 4/15 speaks volumes, while his four four-wicket hauls underline his game-breaking abilities. With a strike rate of 17.14, Hasan is a true PSL veteran who never fails to rise to the occasion.

If Wahab laid the foundation, Shaheen Shah Afridi is the torchbearer. Representing Lahore Qalandars, the lanky left-arm quick has already notched up 103 wickets in just 71 innings, including two five-fors—the only bowler on the list to achieve the feat. His stunning 5/4 spell stands as one of the most destructive in PSL folklore. With a mind-boggling strike rate of 15.75 and an average of 21.02, Shaheen is a nightmare for batters and a dream for captains.

It’s not all about pace in the PSL. Islamabad United’s all-round star Shadab Khan has scalped 91 wickets with his skiddy leg-spin, including a five-wicket haul of 5/28. Faheem Ashraf, another United mainstay, boasts a 6/19 as his best, proving his pace variations can do damage too. Mohammad Nawaz (72 wickets) and Imad Wasim (63 wickets) have been dependable spin options, tying down batters with their craft and guile.

T20 is a format that celebrates the spectacular. Mohammad Amir may have had his ups and downs, but his 73 wickets and economy of 7.57 showcase his class. Haris Rauf’s express pace has rattled stumps and hearts, snaring 66 wickets with a rapid strike rate of 19.46. And Usama Mir, with his leg-spin flair, announced his arrival with 59 wickets and a memorable 6/40.
