Mahendra Singh Dhoni showed no signs of rust as the veteran wicketkeeper took fans down memory lane by bringing out the vintage helicopter shot against Matheesha Pathirana during Chennai Super Kings' training camp ahead of IPL 2025.
MS Dhoni last played competitive cricket nearly 10 months ago when he turned up for CSK in IPL 2024. In a video clip shared on social media, Dhoni is seen using the helicopter shot against one of Pathirana's yorker.

The 43-year-old, who has been connecting the bat very well since he joined the CSK camp, depisoted one of Pathirana's misdirected yorker, which turned into a fuller delivery, over the bowlers head and the ropes at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday (March 18). Watch the video here:

Last season, Dhoni showcased his power-hitting and finishing whenever he walked out to bat as thousands flocked the venues to get a glimpse of the former Indian captain, who is likely playing his last few seasons of IPL.
Dhoni was retained by CSK as an uncapped player ahead of the mega auction last year at Rs 4 crore, helping the franchise also retain other options, including Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja, in the side for big money.
The veteran has often flirted with the idea of retiring, and many feel this could be his final season of Indian Premier League as a player after he sported a T-shirt with "One last time" written on it in Morse code.
Retirement talk aside for now, Dhoni recently revealed what kept him motivated to play even at the age of 43."For me, my biggest motivation was that contribution to make India win. Now that I've retired from international cricket, I can't say it's the same, but for me now, it's the love for the sport," Dhoni said at a promotional event in Chennai.
Dhoni and Co will begin their IPL 2025 campaign at home against rivals Mumbai Indians on Sunday (March 23) before they host southern rivals Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) a few days later.
