As the turn of the calendar year has arrived, the world has dipped into a frenzy to welcome 2025.

Former India captain MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, was captured having a blast at the West Coast of the country.

With the Arabian Sea at the backdrop, Dhoni is spending quality time with his family and he welcomed the New Year in style, amid his loved ones in Goa.

A video has captured Dhoni releasing a Sky Lantern in the night sky amid fireworks as the vibrant Goa welcomed 2025.

The India legend always maintains privacy in his personal life despite the sky-high fandom. Dhoni seldom comes in front of the camera and recently spoke about the reason he chooses to stay away from PR stunts.

"I have never been a big fan of social media. Throughout, I have had different managers and all of them keep pushing. I started playing in 2004; Twitter got popular later on, after which Instagram came in. All the managers are like, 'You should do some PR, build this and build that.' I had the same answer that if I play good cricket, I don't need PR," Dhoni said recently.

The 43-year-old may have retired for India, but he continues to be a central figure in the IPL. Dhoni is set to play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025, after being retained as an uncapped player for Rs 4 crore ahead of the mega auction.
