RCB vs CSK, IPL 2023: MS Dhoni in destructive touch ahead of RCB match - Watch

Chennai Super Kings will be locking horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a crunch IPL 2023 tie at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday (April 17).

Two of India's goliaths will be clashing against each other as CSK skipper MS Dhoni will meet his prodigy, RCB's Virat Kohli. Both teams are in a delicate position this season, and will be aiming to get the all-important two points in the match.

And ahead of their match, CSK skipper MS Dhoni was seen taking guard at the Chinnaswamy stadium and demonstrating his batting prowess. Dhoni has got a couple of chances to bat this season.

The CSK skipper played a short cameo against Lucknow Super Giants, and then played a bit elongated knock against Rajasthan Royals. In the latter match, he came agonizingly close to giving CSK a victory but was denied by a superb final delivery by Sandeep Sharma.

As CSK meet RCB in the next match, MS Dhoni may have to bat again if the situation arrives. And the 41-year-old seemed to be preparing for just that.

Dhoni was captured hitting gigantic sixes in the practice and was timing the ball with utmost efficacy. Dwayne Bravo and Ruturaj Gaikwad were in attendance and they were just enjoying the power-hitting by the former India captain.

The CSK skipper has so far scored 58 runs this season, at an average of 58 and a fearsome strike rate of 214. He has so far hit 2 fours and 6 sixes. In his IPL career, the player recently completed 5000 runs and now sits 7th in the all-time highest run-getters list with 5036 runs.

CSK have made a stuttering start to this season. They lost their opening game against Gujarat Titans, but then rallied back to win against Lucknow and Mumbai Indians. But they have suffered their second loss against Rajasthan Royals.
