MS Dhoni has been the most cherished and coveted figure of Indian cricket in the last decade or so. The former India captain led India to three ICC trophies and is the undisputed king of the IPL with 5 title wins.
Amid his stellar journey, a number that has remained with MS Dhoni forever, the number 7. Inspired by his birthday of 7th July, Dhoni adopted the no. 7 on the back of his shirt and it has always been his lucky charm.

But will Dhoni's lucky number replicate the same result for Harmanpreet Kaur in the WPL? The India women's captain thinks so. Harmanpreet Kaur has already won the inaugural Women's Premier League and she believes the magic of 7 can cause wonders for her as well.
MI Women won their latest WPL match against RCB Women to reclaim the summit spot in the WPL table. After the win, Harmanpreet Kaur was asked on JioCinema about her no. 7 jersey and she revealed the secret of wearing the iconic number.
"I think No. 7 has been lucky for the IPL and I hope that luck continues in the WPL too. It was my number when I played in school, I always used to get that. My Indian team jersey number was different but I just thought that I'd like it more if I could continue with the number I used in school. So one day, I just took the numbers back," Harmanpreet Kaur said.
She missed out on the RCB win due to an injury. As Mumbai Indians are currently on top of the table, the WPL juggernaut now moves to Delhi for the remaining part. But the Mumbai captain has already racked up the plans in her mind to tackle the new conditions.
"The venue will be changing and we'll be moving to Delhi. The first thing is to get there and read the conditions. We'll plan accordingly. It's tough to plan that far ahead from here right now. The second we land, we'll go to the ground and evaluate the pitch, the outfield, and we'll make the team and future plans accordingly," she added.
Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2023 Final to clinch the inaugural trophy. It is tough to predict whether Dhoni's number mantra will brew the same result for Harmanpreet, but so far it has been a promising start.
