Former IPL all-rounder Pawan Negi, currently playing for the India Masters in the International Masters League, shared his thoughts on his IPL career and his memorable interaction with MS Dhoni.
In an exclusive chat with MyKhel during another franchise tournament Legend 90 League, the former India player revealed a moment shared with Dhoni, which shall always be with him.

Negi, who was once a sought-after player in the IPL, opened up about his journey and why he isn't part of the tournament anymore. Despite having a few decent seasons with Chennai Super Kings, Negi's IPL rise took a stumbling block following a move away from CSK. The all-rounder was even part of team India and played 1 T20I match.
"I played in the IPL for 10 years. After that, I had a 3-year gap. A lot of youngsters have come and performed. Obviously, youngsters get more opportunities. I wanted to play cricket. So I decided that I would play cricket here after retirement."
The 32-year-old played for the likes of CSK, KKR, DC in the IPL and made 50 appearances across the franchise. When asked if he felt unlucky not to have played more in the IPL, Negi maintained a positive approach.
"No, I wouldn't say I was unlucky. I've played a lot of cricket and I've performed a lot. It would have been better if I had played more, but I'm playing here as well. You have to perform at the end of the day, no matter what cricket you're playing. That's my focus," he added.
Negi also spoke about a striking memory with MS Dhoni from his time at Chennai Super Kings. The former India captain played a big part in his upsurge with CSK and Negi says the first meeting is still etched in his memory.
"My special moment was when I met him for the first time. He was really warm. It was my first time meeting him but I felt like I had known him for years. He made me so comfortable and that was special."
Despite not being in the IPL, Negi remains passionate about the game, continuing to make an impact in franchise leagues.
