Ranchi, mar 11: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian Cricket skipper and his family members' names are reportedly missing from the Lok Sabha electoral rolls. Debashis Gupta, Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer said he has ordered a probe into the matter.
"Somebody has said that and I have asked it to be looked into," said Gupta. Dhoni is a prominent figure and the names of his family members should be there, he added. The legal process suggests that a person's name can be registered even up to the last date of filing of nomination by the candidates. Lok Sabha polls in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on Apr 16 and Apr 23 with Apr 4 being the last date for filing the nomination of candidates. Ranchi where Dhoni lives goes to polls on Apr 23.
However it is not clear whether Dhoni will be in Ranchi to vote, as the Indian Premier League will begin by then and the skipper will be busy playing for Chennai Super Kings.
