MS Dhoni reacts after ICC Hall of Fame Induction with former CSK teammate, Pakistan legend also added

By MyKhel Staff

MS Dhoni, one of India's most iconic cricketing figures, has been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, marking another monumental chapter in his career.

The announcement, made two days ahead of the World Test Championship final at Lord's, places Dhoni among the pantheon of cricket's greatest ever.

Widely regarded as one of the finest captains and finishers in the sport, Dhoni's list of accomplishments is staggering. He led India to the inaugural T20 World Cup title in 2007, broke the country's 28-year wait for an ODI World Cup in 2011 by hitting the unforgettable winning six in the final, and added the 2013 Champions Trophy to his resume - making him the only captain in history to win all three major ICC white-ball tournaments.

"It is an honour to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognises the contributions of cricketers across generations and from all over the world," Dhoni said. "To have your name remembered alongside such all-time greats is a wonderful feeling. It is something that I will cherish forever."

Beyond silverware, Dhoni's statistical footprint is equally impressive. In 350 ODIs, he scored over 10,000 runs at an average exceeding 50. Under his stewardship, India also climbed to the top of the ICC Test rankings, highlighting his impact across formats.

Dhoni's Hall of Fame induction is part of a stellar class that also includes his former CSK teammate Matthew Hayden, New Zealand legend Daniel Vettori, and South Africa duo Hashim Amla, Graeme Smith. Among women players, Pakistan legend Sana Mir and England's Sarah Taylor have been added.

The former India captain participated in the recently concluded IPL 2025 for the Chennai Super Kings. The 43-year-old is tipped to continue with CSK next season, as he prolongs his illustrious career.
