MS Dhoni has not got much chance with the bat so far in IPL 2024, but the Chennai Super Kings veteran rolled back the years with one of his knocks and will look to repeat that when he faces Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday (April 8) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The 42-year-old had led CSK to their record-equalling fifth title last year and handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the season in 2024. CSK has so far won two at home and lost two on the road in IPL 2024.

The seasoned campaigner, who has been at his best behind the stumps despite a troublesome knee, played a cameo in one innings he got to face more than five balls this season. While he did not bat in the first two matches at home, Dhoni came out to bat in the two away games.

Dhoni smashed an unbeaten 37 off 16 balls in the defeat to Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam, and then faced two deliveries for an unbeaten 1 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad.
