MS Dhoni shares hilarious anecdote of trolling Bangladeshi players with Bangla

MS Dhoni has revealed how he absolutely trolled the Bangladesh players during a match against them.

The former India cricketer is an absolute stalwart of the game. The former India captain has won three ICC titles as India captain and he is the most successful Indian skipper when it comes to winning trophies.

But apart from being the top cricketer that he is, Dhoni is a witty person and has an excellent sense of humour. The ex-India skipper has often shown his humorous side and is a savage when it comes to taking the mickey out of his opponent.

And in a recent interview, Dhoni opened up about how he bamboozled some Bangladeshi players in a match. Dhoni worked as a Ticket Collector at the Kharagpur station in West Bengal before his rise as a cricketer. Due to this reason and his prior proximity to Bengal, Dhoni understands Bengali pretty well.

"Kharagpur me mere railways ka job that aur us samay mera Bengali bahut achhi thi. Ab bolunga toh bhul-bhal bolunga, kisko kya kharaab laag jayega (When I used to work at Kharagpur in Railways, my Bengali was very well. Now if I speak, I may commit mistakes)," Dhoni said in the event.

He says he used to speak Bengali but has forgotten how to speak it, but understands the language pretty well. The former India captain said that during a match against Bangladesh, the keeper was instructing the bowlers in Bengali and he could understand all of that and play accordingly.

It was only after the match the Bangladeshi players could fathom that Dhoni understood Bengali, and they were surprised.

"E To Bangla Bujhte Paare" (He understands Bengali!), the Bangladeshi players screamed in surprise.

Although MS Dhoni retired in India colours after the 2019 ICC World Cup, the former India player is still going strong in the IPL. Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings lifted the trophy in 2023 and it looks certain that the 42-year-old will play in the upcoming edition as well.
