His father Pan Singh Dhoni, who worked as a pump operator in MECON, lived with his family in the small rooms of a two-storied building which was actually located within the complex of company's staff quarters.

Now, the resident of this small house is Lalit Kumar Singh after The Dhonis shifted to their own accomodation in a posh area of the state capital.

The 40-year old resident of MS Dhoni's previous residence informed OneIndia, “We came to this place in 2013. Since then we also seem to have got celebrity status for several people used to come here and watch this building, where India's cricket star Dhoni spent his childhood days."

Dhoni might have had the only advantage of living in this house for his school DAV Jahar Vidyamandir was a mere five minute's walk from his home.

His school is like a temple to Dhoni as the former Indian skipper still goes to his childhood school where he learnt playing cricket under the guidance of Keshab Banerjee.

According to Lalit Singh, this very building was used in the shooting of Dhoni's biopic, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.

After getting into the senior Indian squad for the first time in 2004, Dhoni changed his residential address. He was rewarded with a better house by MECON within the company's quarters opposite MECON hospital.

Dhoni had spent five years there. Interestingly, the security head of MECON, while speaking over phone from Ranchi, said, “Dhoni Sir still comes to this place whenever he passes from this area! That is the beauty of his humility as he has never forgotten his roots."

In 2009 Dhoni shifted to Harmu Housing colony from MECON quarters.

Lalit Singh said, “Dhoni has built up a fort-like three-storied building in Harmu Housing. From outside this building does not looks like a fort at all. But it has got swimming pool, net practising field, ultra-modern gym and even a five star hotel has been constructed inside the building."

Have a look at Dhoni's residences so far:
