MS Dhoni shows 'sigma male' traits during bee attack even as Rahul Dravid, Pakistan players lie down for cover - Video

MS Dhoni exhibits a type of tremendous aura that draws people to him and is someone who follows his own path and makes decisions based on his personal beliefs and values. These quality traits helped him become one of the most successful cricketers in the world.

Despite being in the limelight, the Ranchi-born is known for his reserved and composed nature where he seldom displays emotion in public. Case in point, in a throwback video clip that has been doing the rounds on social media, MS Dhoni was seen showcasing sigma male traits.

MS Dhoni stands tall despite the swarm of bees descend on to the ground

The incident happened during the 2nd ODI between India and Pakistan in Visakhapatnam, when a swarm of bees marked its presence, all of a sudden. Upon witnessing this, Rahul Dravid, Pakistani players and even the umpire crouched down to escape from getting stung.

However, there was one player who stood stall in the midst of the bee invasion and it was none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The incident happened after MS Dhoni scored his maiden ODI century and countless bees descended onto the ground as the game was halted briefly.

While all others lied down for cover, MS Dhoni didn’t panic one bit as he remained calm as usual as he was focused on inflicting damage on Pakistan. The Ranchi-born cricketer went on to register 148 off 123 balls including 15 fours and 4 hits over the fence at a strike rate of 120.32, which turned out to be career-defining innings as the cricketer’s international career started taking shape and the rest is history.

He would go on to become one of the best finishers in the history of the sport. Besides that, he became the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket. Under his tutelage, Team India won 3 ICC titles (T20 World Cup 2007, ODI World Cup 2011, Champions Trophy 2013).
