Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be awarded by Fancraze for his iconic six in the final of the World Cup 2011, the apex body of cricket announced on Sunday (April 2).
In 2011, India won the final of the World Cup on this day at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. India beat Sri Lanka in the final and then India skipper MS Dhoni played a huge part in it. He scored an unbeaten 91 runs in the final and also hit the winning shot, a six over Long On in the bowling of Nuwan Kulasekara.
And as the World Cup win of India completes 12 years, Fancraze, in association with ICC, will commemorate captain cool with a FanCraze digital collectible of the moment at a special event in Chennai on Sunday (April 2).
FanCraze will be gifting the former India captain a Navarasa-themed Digital Collectible centred around the emotion of 'Glory'.
"Navarasa - the concept around which the brand identity of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 is built - is based around the nine emotions a fan goes through during the course of a match; joy, power, anguish, respect, pride bravery, glory, wonder and passion," the statement from ICC wrote.
MS Dhoni will be awarded on Sunday (April 2). The award ceremony will take place in Chennai. The award ceremony will start at 4.30 pm IST on Sunday.
The award event can be live-streamed on ICC's official Facebook page from 4.30 pm IST onwards.
Dhoni is currently captaining Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. His team lost the first match against Gujarat Titans on March 31 and will play their next match against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday (April 3).
