MS Dhoni Upset With CSK Over Ravindra Jadeja Deal, Tells Franchise IPL 2026 Will Be His Last: Report

Former Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not to lose his calm even in tough situations. But when he does, it is always for a bigger cause, like it happened ahead of this year's IPL season. The reason this situation arose this time was that the Chennai Super Kings allowed their premier all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, to leave for the Rajasthan Royals.

According to speculation surrounding this deal, the move could have been a straight cash deal rather than a swap involving Sanju Samson. According to Cric Blogger, citing sources, the former Indian Captain was so upset with the trade that he is considering whether he will play for the franchise or not in IPL 2026. However, to pacify things in the camp, the people who had facilitated this deal have been sidelined.

MS Dhoni Upset With CSK Over Ravindra Jadeja Deal Tells Franchise IPL 2026 Will Be His Last Report

What Did CSK Officials Say About The Incident?

Asked about the developments that are unfolding, none of the officials was available for comment. Sources close to the Chennai Super Kings also revealed that no such incident involving MS Dhoni has taken place.

According to the internal sources, MS Dhoni had made it clear that Sanju was the first choice successor to fill in his glove from the very beginning. The former Indian captain saw tremendous potential in the Kerala star and gave his consent for Samson. However, he was not ready to let go of Jadeja, who has been a vital cog in the CSK unit.

"MS Dhoni has even told the franchise that this year would be his last with Chennai Super Kings after the swap," the source added.

With MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja having shared a long and successful partnership at Chennai Super Kings, fans are already speculating about a fascinating on-field moment if Jadeja ends up bowling to his former captain in this year's IPL.

The possibility of the iconic CSK duo facing off as opponents has generated plenty of buzz on social media, with supporters eager to see how the two seasoned teammates would approach such a rare contest.
