'There is hardly any romance, men come in that comfort zone': Wife Sakshi on her chemistry with MS Dhoni

Producer Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of legendary India captain MS Dhoni, opened up about her chemistry with the wicketkeeper-batter after 13 years of marriage and said that "there was hardly any romance" left, adding that sweet banters and "a lot of conversations" form the crux of their relationship now.

The comments from the star cricketer's 34-year-old came during a media interaction ahead of the release of Tamil movie LGM - the first production under the Dhoni Entertainment banner. Sakshi Singh Dhoni is the producer of the film alongside Vikas Hasija. The movie was released on Friday, July 28.

"Honestly, I am being very candid about this. Men, they chase you first and then after marriage they are, 'OK! She is mine only, where is she gonna go'. Men come in that comfort zone. We are just bantering with each other the whole day, there is hardly any romance which is a good thing in a way for both of us. But because the romance bit was done before and so it's stale for us and so banters and a lot of conversations. That's our chemistry," Sakshi said on being quizzed by the media.

Sakshi and MS Dhoni tied the knot on July 4 2010. They have a daughter who was born on February 6, 2015. One of the most adorable celebrity couples, Sakshi and the CSK captain spend most of their time at their Ranchi house when free from cricketing responsibilities.

Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2019, continues to lead Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL. The 42-year-old recently guided the team to their fifth IPL trophy and has expressed his wish to lead the franchise for one more season.

Sakshi was also asked about her relationship with Dhoni's mother. She revealed that she met her just a day before the marriage, adding that the bonding is such that she can't imagine her life without Dhoni's mother.

"I met my mother-in-law one day before the marriage. The first time, yes! So today, touchwood we have a very good bond and we are like friends actually, We share everything. Earlier when I was new at the house and Dhoni was out for games, I was waking up, like literally they were strangers to me. From there, till now our relationship has really developed. She is an immense support to me. I cannot think of not being with her in the same household.

She has always been chilled out. Actually my father-in-law is the strict one and that's why Dhoni is disciplined. Our family is very disciplined. They have never said no to us for anything. I think space is one of the most important things," she added.
