MS Dhoni will join LLC in Near Future? Suresh Raina gives honest reply on India Stalwart

Former India batter Suresh Raina has a magnificent bond with MS Dhoni. The duo were tightly knitted during their India days, and the relationship and camaraderie continued as they played for Chennai Super Kings together in the Indian Premier League.

Raina, who has left competitive cricket, now plays in the Legends League Cricket and ahead of the new season, the former India batter spoke about a probable inclusion of MS Dhoni.

Dhoni is still active in the IPL and is poised to play for CSK in the IPL 2025 as well. The veteran looked extremely agile and fit in the previous season and despite his knee issues, is being tipped to play.

But Dhoni's retirement from competitive cricket will open the door for him in these kinds of tournaments, and Raina would love to see the former India captain in LLC.

"I would love to see him, to be honest. You need to ask the bosses. They might be talking to him in the future," Raina said on Tuesday.

When asked about if he would follow Dhoni to his team if the latter joins LLC, Raina joked that all the eight teams will be after the India star.

Former India player Ambati Rayudu was also present at the event and the player denied if retiring early has become a lure for players with such legends leagues becoming much more prevalent of late.

"I don't think so because playing for India would always remain the top most priority for everybody when they start playing cricket. Eventually, once every cricketer knows when to retire, internally, it might be at 31, it might be at 42 or 45, but, you know, you get to know. There's no set pattern or age," Rayudu added.

Will MS Dhoni join LLC in Future?

MS Dhoni is 43 years old. And even at this age, he has been going strong in competitive tournaments, whether many of his contemporaries and younger players have already joined the retired players' leagues.

It is quite admirable that the former India captain still wants to compete at the highest level event with his much-compromised fitness conditions. When Dhoni retires, the former India player confirmed that he may remain with CSK in some capacity. In terms of playing in the retired cricketers' leagues, MS Dhoni may contain himself with one tournament if he wills to give it a crack, but that chance seems very bleak at the moment.
